Wonderful memories, largely based on Harlech, where it seems all our holidays used to take place. But also of the excitement of going to visit and stay overnight at number 14. Being sent to bed at about 8 or 9 o'clock, and sitting at the top of the stairs listening to the sounds of laughter going on into the evening. The most enduring memory I have always had is of "aunty" Eileen's laugh and her big smile. And isn't that just how things are meant to be? Don and Eileen were an enormous part of our formative years. I always wondered, as a kid, if I was going to be lucky enough to have friends that meant as much to me as the Shaws were to my parents. A special lady. Never to be forgotten.
